Pipeline Surveys

Our senior staff and Parent Company (Pipe Line Services) have considerable past experience working for major utilities firms across the UK. This experience, coupled with our levels of skills and training, ensures that PLS Surveys ranks amongst the most efficient and capable Pipeline Surveyors in the UK.

Our Engineers regularly carry out a variety of pipeline survey projects for some quite significant clients, from firms within the water industry to those involved with the transportation of either gas or oil. Examples of such services would include topographic surveys, setting out of pipeline routes and as-built surveys.

How do we work?

The very latest Trimble GPS equipment is employed to gain complete control over entire sites, enabling our Engineers to complete these tasks quickly and economically. Alignment files are created from the pipe centre design and uploaded into the instruments (be they total station or GPS) for setting out in real time.

Chartered Hydro Engineers will supervise – and set out for – construction of the pipeline, ensuring line and level using either GPS or Grade Lasers. Engineers would also assist in ordering materials, monitoring all quality procedures and collating all relevant paperwork for handover.
